Writers’ group organizes solidarity campaign for jailed Kurdish journalist

PEN International has launched a solidarity campaign for journalist Nedim Türfent, who was convicted on terror charges in late 2017 after publishing a video that embarrassed state security forces.  

The organization, which supports writers from all over the world, included a poem written by the journalist in his prison cell. 

Regional court rejects the mass appeal of 26 journalists, including Oğuz Usluer

An appeal by 26 journalists was rejected on October 22 by İstanbul Regional Court 2nd Criminal Chamber. Some have been completed their prison sentence, but others – including Oğuz Usluer, a former Habertürk Coordinator who was represented by the Legal Unit of the Media and Law Studies Association, remain imprisoned.
